Meet the Legendz!
The Texas Legendz Classic is part of the annual Texas Prime Meet, hosted by Texas Dreams and Kim Zmeskal. The top level 9 and level 10 finishers from Texas Prime qualify to compete at the Legendz Classic where the audience will be dazzled by a talented group of young gymnasts led by an accomplished group of Legendz Captains. This year's captains are Brandy Johnson, Anna Li, Kristie Phillips, and Mary Lou Retton.

Brandy Johnson competed at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea where she finished 10th all-around, the highest for a U.S. athlete at these Olympics. At the 1989 World Championships, she took second on vault and seventh all-around. She was inducted into the USA Gymnastics National Hall of Fame in 2000. Johnson is the owner of Brandy Johnson's Global Gymnastics in Clermont, Florida where she coaches her daughter and elite gymnast Sydney Johnson-Sharpf

Anna Li was a successful elite and college gymnast. She was part of the 2011 World Championship team and was the alternate to the 2012 Olympics. Li competed for the UCLA Bruins from 2007-2010 where she helped them land their sixth NCAA team title in 2010. Li's expertise on the uneven bars made her a great asset to the US National team. She became the first woman to compete a Hop 1 1/2 on bars, called a Rybalko, which she does in combination with a Jaeger release and in 2012 she competed a routine with a 6.8 difficulty score.

Kristie Phillips was the 1987 senior U.S. National Champion and a 1987 World Championship team member. She went on to participate in competitive cheerleading in college and has since enjoyed successful careers as an actress, stunt woman, coach and gymnastics club owner, and judge. Phillips was inducted in to the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2006.

Mary Lou Retton is famous for being the first female U.S. gymnast to win the Olympic all-around title (she was also the first from outside Eastern Europe to win). She won a total of 5 medals in the 1984 Games. She was also a three time American Cup Champion. Retton was named the Sports Illustrated Sportswoman of the Year and was an International Gymnastics Hall of Fame inductee.
