J.O. Nationals is just around the corner and in anticipation of the biggest weekend in club gymnastics, we've ranked just how the 640+ competitors stack up against one another.

Looking at the Pre-J.O. Rankings, three regions in particular stand out:

Region 1 

(California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah)

Region 1 is a force to be reckoned with and has some incredible talent this year. The region consists of only four states, but all are very strong performance wise. Four of the top-10-ranked gymnasts come out of Region 1, more than double any other region. Furthermore, almost 30 percent of the gymnasts in the top 100 hail from these states.

Standouts: Jade Carey, Kennedi Edney, Kimberly Tessen

Region 8 

(Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisianna, and Tennessee)

Region 8 is home to top gyms like Everest, Orlando Metro, Coast Elite, Southeastern, American Twisters, and many more. This helps give it 21 gymnasts in the top 100, second only to Region 1.

Standouts: Abby Heiskell, Madison Osman, Lexi Graber

Region 3 

(Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Arkansas, and Wyoming)

Year after year, Region 3 performs incredibly well on the national scene. Texas is the clear powerhouse, but states like Colorado and Oklahoma have very strong athletes as well. While Region 3 doesn't have as many gymnasts in the top of the pack as Region 1 or Region 8, they have the #1 gymnast in the country in Rachael Flam, and 16 athletes in the top 100.

Standouts: Lauren Letzsch, Shaylah Scott, Rachael Flam


Watch for these three regions to perform very well this weekend at J.O.s. However, don’t count anyone out, as there are strong gymnasts across the entire country ready to take on the competition.
