The Swiss Olympic Committee has announced Giulia Steingruber as the sole women's artistic gymnastics representative for Switzerland for the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games.
The Rio Olympics will be Steingruber's second Games. Her first were in London 2012.
She is the first Swiss female gymnast to win the European Championships all-around title, which she accomplished last year in 2015. Steingruber is known for her power and excellence on vault and floor exercise. The popular Swiss gymnast also has an eponymous skill, a full-twisting Gainer layout off the end of the beam.
Unlike the Swiss women, the Swiss men did qualify a full team to Rio. The men's team includes Christian Baumann, Pablo Brägger, Benjamin Gischard, Oliver Hegi and Eddy Yusof. Marco Rizzo is the alternate.
