September Developmental Camp Concludes
The USA Gymnastics September developmental camp concluded at the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas on Tuesday.
The USA Gymnastics September developmental camp concluded at the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas on Tuesday.
Forty gymnasts were in attendance for the two-a-day training sessions, and their physical abilities were tested under the direction of new national team coordinator Valeri Liukin, according to USA Gymnastics.
Hannah Hagle of Texas East Gymnastics placed first in the physical abilities testing. Lauren Letzsch of TIGAR Gymnastics came in second, and Lillian Lippeatt of Cincinnati Gymnastics took third. Following physical abilities testing, the coaches and national staff worked with the athletes on new skills and combinations to prepare for the upcoming elite season. These athletes will compete as Hopes and Junior Elites in 2017.
The next developmental camp will take place October 23-27.
The first national team camp of the new quad began Wednesday and will run through Sunday, October 2.
