The day after winning the all-around title at the 2017 Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, Morgan Hurd received a congratulatory tweet from her favorite author J.K. Rowling.
Hurd is a huge Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling fan and tweeted her thanks back to Rowling.
While Hurd held it together enough to post that tweet, teammate Jade Carey shared a video of Hurd's adorable reaction to Rowling's tweet, in which Hurd seemed to have been crying.
Hurd has publicly expressed her love for Harry Potter in the past.
Even during an interview from podium training at this year's worlds, when asked what character she would love to portray in a floor routine, she answered, "A wizard."
Hurd was the sole competitor from USA in the women's all-around and after a fantastic competition, she earned the gold medal. Following the competition, Twitter user Uncle Tim set the wheels in motion with his tweet to Rowling.
After more than 1,200 favorites and nearly 500 retweets, Rowling came through with her short but incredibly meaningful tweet.
If Hurd wasn't already having the best week of her life, she sure is now!
UPDATE OCT. 8:
As if the first tweet wasn't enough, Rowling sent another (even better) tweet to Hurd!
Hurd replied her thanks just hours before her final competition -- where she will compete in the beam finals.
.@morgihurd Congratulations Morgan!
