2008 Olympian Joey Hagerty Retires
2008 USA Olympian Joey Hagerty has made the decision to retire from gymnastics. His final competition was this past weekend at the Houston National Invitational where he finished 2nd all around behind fellow US National Team member Danell Leyva with an 87.850.

Bo Morris captured a few videos of the HNI meet and Hagerty's last competition. Here is his farewell high bar routine, scoring a great 15.650.

In 2008, Joey was a rock for the US Olympic team and helped them to a team bronze medal in the Beijing team final. The year after the Olympics he went on to win the prestigious all around title at the 2009 Winter Cup Challenge National competition.

Here's a look back at our Workout Wednesday video featuring Joey and his Olympic Training Center teammates featured in May of 2009:

Joey will definitely be missed in the gymnastics world but we wish him all the best for the future!
