Chinese Gymnast Zou Kai Earns Record High Bar Score
Zou Kai is the 2008 Olympic Champion on both high bar and floor and the 2009 World Champion on high bar. He was mysteriously left off the Chinese World Championships team in 2010, but he's just resurfaced with the most difficult high bar set in the world.

At the recent Doha World Cup, he easily won the event final with the highest marks on high bar in international competition under the current Code of Points. His difficulty score was a massive 7.70 and he totaled a 16.425 for the routine. Here is the video:

Zou and the current reigning World Champion on high bar, also from China, Zhang Chenglong, held the previous record at a 7.50 start value. Epke Zonderland of the Netherlands competed a 7.30 start value routine at last month's Bercy meet in France, and recently we were impressed by a new 7.0 start value from American Danell Leyva. The question remains, can any country realistically keep up with China?

On that note, in case you missed it the first time around, here's a video from inside a Chinese gymnastics training center showing in-depth how the young Chinese boys are trained. Video was provided by Nicholas Bock in a joint presentation with StickItMedia.
