Olympic Champion Nastia Liukin Announces her Comeback to Gymnastics
The future is looking bright for USA Gymnastics as the pool of athletes in the mix for the 2012 Olympics just got a little more interesting. After 3 years of dancing around the subject, 2008 Olympic All Around Champion Nastia Liukin told Nancy Armour of AP that yes, she is in fact training with the intention of making the 2012 London Olympics.

Currently, Liukin is in Tokyo for the World Gymnastics Championships, not as a competitor but as the FIG Athlete Representative. She will begin 2-a-day workouts when she returns home.

She told AP that she will focus on bars and beam, and that coach/dad Valeri Liukin is already dreaming up a "crazy" bar routine. She is targeting the CoverGirl Classic next spring for her return to competition and sounds to be very committed to the comeback.

She ended the interview saying, "For me, Beijing was more of a destiny I felt like, and London would be more like a dream."
