2012 season here we come! The NCAA Gymnastics season is officially upon us and junior olympic invitationals are in full swing. Gymnastike is jumping right in with nine gymnastics meets for you to enjoy over the course of the weekend. Here's your complete guide to our weekend of coverage!
Brestyan's Invitational
Saturday, Jan 14
I am making my first trip of the year to hit up a big east coach invitational hosted by one of the top gyms in the country, Brestyan's Gymnastics, home of World Champions Alicia Sacramone and Aly Raisman. Teams to watch include Excalibur, Elite, Gold Medal, Nina's, North Stars, and of course, the host team lead by Mihai and Slyvia Brestyan.
Windy City Invitational
Friday Jan 13 - Sat Jan 14
Jason MacDonald will be showcasing top men's talent at the 16th annual Windy City invitational. Competition will feature an impressive level 10 and elite session with gymnasts from Aerial, Bartlett, Buffalo Grove, Mills, Orlando Metro, Palmers, and more. And this year, they're adding a whole new element: Regional All Star teams with a total of five regions represented!
Windy City NCAA Opener
Saturday, Jan 14
The 2012 men’s gymnastics season is set to begin this Saturday at the 42nd Windy City Invitational in Chicago. The time has come for the guys to show off everything they have accomplished during their offseason training.
Jason MacDonald and Gymnastike intern Ryan Pandl will give you the first look at six of the nation's top men's gymnastics teams:
#2 Illinois, #3 Michigan, #7 Ohio State, #8 Minnesota, #10 Iowa, and the host school, #12 Illinois-Chicago.
Utah State at #5 Utah
This is the home opener for the Utes who have much to improve on from last weekend's season opener at UCLA where they nearly edged the preseason #1 team. Look for a big score from the Utes in front of a huge crowd as Kyle Khou delivers competition video.

#18 Ohio State at #10 Michigan
Friday, Jan 13
Tori Kane will be covering her first meet as a member of the Gymnastike 2012 Internship team as the #10 preseason ranked Wolverines host #18 Ohio State. This is the first meet of the season for Michigan who graduated numerous routines from their 2011 team who finished the year 6th nationally. Freshmen Annette Miele and Sachi Sugiyama will make their NCAA debuts and Reema Zakharia is finally healthy and looking to make an all around impact. Ohio State is coming off of an impressive season opener last weekend, defeating Minnesota on the road with a 195.375 team score.
The Buckeyes are led by sophomore Sarah Miller, the 2011 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Pitt at Maryland
Friday, Jan 13
Gymnastike intern Christine Miller will feature the new routines of EAGL rivals Maryland and Pitt. Even after graduating regining EAGL All Around Champion Abigail Adams, the Terrapins are coming off their best season-opening performance in Maryland history with their 194.225 last weekend. This will be the first meet of the season for Pitt.
Central Michigan at Bowling Green
Gymnastike intern Danny Sierra will cover this dual. The contest will be the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams. Central Michigan boasts the current MAC Specialist of the Week Kari Dieffenderfer and MAC Gymnast of the Week Brittany Petzold.
Cornell, Penn, UNC, William & Mary & Temple at GW
Sunday, Jan 14
Marina Mazor and Gary Cuesta will round the weekend with video coverage of the Lindsey Ferris Invitational Sunday in DC. It's very rare that you see six teams go head to head this early in the season so it should be an exciting competition.

#13 Penn State at New Hampshire
We'll get our first look at all around standout Sharaya Musser and a talented Penn State team as they take on New Hampshire in Durham. Coverage will be provided by David Pendrys

2012 Olympic Test Event
