USAG Confirms: Price and Leyva Set For World Cup
We saw the nominative list yesterday and now have confirmation that Danell Leyva and Elizabeth Price's will compete at the World Cup.
USAG released the following:
INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 23, 2012 - 2012 Olympic all-around bronze-medalist Danell Leyva of Miami/Universal Gymnastics, and 2012 Olympic team alternate Elizabeth Price of Coopersburg, Pa./Parkettes National Gymnastics Center, will represent the United States at the World Cup in Stuttgart, Germany, Dec. 1-2, and Glasgow, Scotland, Dec. 8.
In Stuttgart, the DTB Cup will be held at the Porsche-Arena Stuttgart and has the women's all-around scheduled on Saturday, Dec. 1, followed by the men's competition on Sunday, Dec. 2. In Glasgow, both men's and women's all-around are scheduled for Dec. 8 at the National Indoor Sports Arena.
In addition to his Olympic efforts, Leyva won the all-around at both the AT&T American Cup and the U.S. Olympic Trials - Gymnastics in 2012. At the Visa Championships, he won both the parallel bars and horizontal bars national titles, as well as was second in the all-around.
Price was named as an alternate to the women's Olympic squad following the U.S. Olympic Trials, where she was fourth in the all-around. Earlier in the year, she was a member of the U.S. Team that won the team title at the City of Jesolo Trophy.
Both of these events are part of the International Gymnastics Federation's all-around World Cup series, which also includes the AT&T World Cup.
