One of the largest gymnastics competitions in the world returns to Fort Worth, Texas this year for the annual Metroplex Challenge. This competition will feature some of the top NCAA and club gymnasts in the country and Gymnastike will be providing a LIVE stream of the competition!
The Challenge hosts an extremly competitive NCAA team race. This year's women's edition promises the excitement of the Super Six featuring #2 Oklahoma, #7 LSU, #9 Georgia, #16 Oregon State, and Washington.
Oklahoma and Georgia met in a duel meet on January 4th where the Sooners beat the Gym Dogs 196.45 -195.425. It was a close meet until the fourth roation where Gerogia struggled on the floor exercise. Georgia will be looking for some redemption in Ft.Worth.
This is also the first time that Georiga will compete against LSU and former Georgia Coach, Jay Clark. Clark spent 20 years coaching at Georgia and is now the Associate Head Coach at LSU. The Tigers are coming off a great season opener where Rheagan Courville had the highest all-around score in the country and LSU scored a ridiculous 49.525 total on the floor exercise.
This event should be a tone setter for the rest of the season.
The Metroplex Challenge is also hosting a men's NCAA session featuring the reigning National Champions of Illinois, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Iowa, joined by club teams from the University of Texas and Texas A&M.
The women's level 9 and 10 competition draws clubs from around the country. Top teams competing this year include Aerial Athletics, Auburn, Dynamo, JPAC, Sonshine, and the host team of Metroplex.
Gymnastike will broadcast the event LIVE, and all Gymnastike Gold subscribers will be able to access the Metroplex Challenge from start to finish. We will be streaming every routine live from women's level 9, women's level 10, women's NCAA, and men's NCAA! To sign up for Gymnastike Gold and watch live gymnastics, click here!
