Brie Olson was named Gymnast of the Week, Haley Scaman Newcomer of the Week by the Big 12.

 Senior Brie Olson was named Gymnast of the Week and freshman Haley Scaman was named Newcomer of the Week the Big 12 announced Tuesday.

 Olson is the Gymnast of the Week recipient for the second time this season while Scaman has been honored fourth times this year. The two Sooners were joined by West Virginia's Alaska Richardson who was named Specialist of the Week.

Olson fought through the flu in the preceding days before the Perfect 10 Challenge to win the all-around title with a 39.550. The senior earned season-high scores in three of the four events and tied her career highs on bars at 9.95 and beam at 9.9.

Scaman won the Perfect 10 Challenge vault title with a 9.9, tying a career high for the freshman. She also totaled a score of 9.85 on bars in addition to a 9.875 on floor, an event in which she is the top-ranked freshman in the country and currently No. 8 overall.
