Ernst Wins Silver at Tokyo World Cup

 Peyton Ernst of Coppell, Texas/Texas Dreams Gymnastics, won the all-around silver medal with a combined score of 56.550 at the 2013 Tokyo World Cup, held today at the Metropolitan Komazawa Olympic Park General Sports Ground in Tokyo. Japan’s Asuka Teramoto, 56.825, won theall-around title, while Elsabeth Black of Canada, 55.900, finished third.

The Tokyo World Cup is an International Gymnastics Federation all-around World Cup competition and is the final event in the 2012-13 series.

Today, Ernst posted scores of 13.375, balance beam, and 13.875, on the floor exercise.  On day one, Ernst earned a 15.125 on vault and a 14.175 on the uneven bars.

Earlier, 2012 Olympic all-around bronze-medalist Danell Leyva of Miami/Universal Gymnastics, withdrew from the event with a shoulder injury.
