1. Florida: 197.775
2. LSU: 197.325
3. Georgia: 197.150
-----
4. Minnesota: 196.375
5. Illinois: 195. 700
6. Stanford: 194.700

Florida:

As expected the #1 Florida Gators made it to the Super Six, but the margin between first and second was not as large as predicted. LSU was only 0.45 away from the Gators.

Although, the Gators came out on top they were not without mistakes. Florida’s first competitor of the competition, Kiersten Wang, fell on her neck during her floor routine putting the pressure on everyone that followed. Bridgette Caquatto, who replaced injured senior Randy Stageberg, anchored on floor and the freshman came through for the team.

Florida posted a 49.525 on bars, its highest score on the event at an NCAA Championship, and scored its third highest total in school history on vault with a 49.45.

LSU:

LSU started off on beam and increased their momentum and scores through each rotation. LSU was holding on to the third spot at the halfway point, and were only 0.35 ahead of fourth and only 0.475 away from second. The Tigers went lights out on their last two rotations and began a stick fest on vault that continued to bars. Their bar score of 49.475 is a new season high for the Tigers.

Georgia:

Georgia was second to Florida after the third rotation by only .300, but their scores did not hold up and LSU pushed them to third. The Gym Dogs were only .050 away from their season high bar score with a 49.50. This will be Georgia’s 18th Super Six appearance and their first since 2009.

Minnesota:

This was only Minnesota’s third appearance at NCAA’s in school history. The Gophers were sitting in fourth and knocking on the Super Six door at the halfway point with a solid 98.00. Their scores would not hold up against the powerhouse SEC teams.

Illinois:

Illinois made only their third NCAA appearance as well. Elizabeth McNabb made her surprising season debut on bars scoring a 9.750. The team posted their highest beam score at an NCAA Championship, a 48.975.

Stanford:

Stanford had a very disappointing meet losing senior Ivana Hong to a knee injury on vault in the second rotation. With two falls on bars they were forced to count one. After Ivana’s injury they only had five available gymnasts to compete beam and were once again forced to count a fall. All of these falls cost them a spot in the Super Six.

All-Around:
