WOGA Classic: What to watch for
The always prestigious WOGA Classic is set for Saturday, Feb. 8th and Gymnastike will be providing gymnastics fans with live coverage!

There will be a diverse international field including gymnasts from China, Japan, Great Britain, Russia, Canada, Brazil, Belgium, Ukraine, Germany, and the Netherlands. Top gymnasts from Great Britain Amy Tinkler and Jade Armstrong will be competing after their strong showing at last year’s Great Brittain Championships. You will also get a first look at some of the rising stars from China and Japan including Haruhi Uchimura, the sister of reigning World and Olympic Champion Kohei Uchimura. You will also see Yuan Xiaoyang, reigning Chinese National Champion on vault.

There will be a strong U.S. group lead by WOGA elites Madison Kocian, Irina Alexeeva, and Alyssa Baumannand Samantha Ogden. Also keep an eye out for rising WOGA stars Lauren Farley and Nadia Cho, both in their second seasons as elite gymnasts. Alonza Klopfer from North Stars Gymnastics has been off to a great start this season as she placed second all-around at the 2014 Parkettes Invitational.

Last season, Kocian was on fire and on path to make the USA World Championship team. However, after an uncharacteristic fall and injury at the P&G Championships, her season was cut short. This year, she is back, healthy, and ready to contend for the World team. Kocian's key events are bars and beam where she is simply World Class.

At last year's WOGA Classic, Baumann competed only three events but she took second on floor. She went on to place 7th all-around at the 2013 Secret Classic as well as 7th all-around at the 2013 P&G Championships. She will debut an exciting new beam routine this weekend featuring an incredible front aerial+front aerial+side aerial+switch side combination!

At the 2013 WOGA Classic, Alexeeva only competed beam and floor but, incredibly, she won both events and later in the year went on to dominate her division at the 2013 Massilia Cup in France. She is one of the most exciting young athletes out of WOGA and has already earned thousands of fans for her incredible work on beam

Taking place early in the season, the WOGA Classic gives us the first look at new routines and skill upgrades for gymnasts this year.

The WOGA Classic has always delivered great performances and you can be sure to expect the same this year. At the 2013 WOGA Classic, Katelyn Ohashi burst onto the senior elite stage with jaw-dropping skills and took first on beam with an almost perfect 15.8 routine. In 2012, then junior Simone Biles placed third all-around and won vault with an incredible 16.15.

You can watch every routine from the WOGA Classic elite session LIVE only on Gymnastike! The live stream begins at 6:45pm CST. If you are not already a member, sign up for Gymnastike Gold HERE to watch the broadcast.
