NEW SKILL- the Jones
Shilese Jones made a big statement at JO Nationals when she competed a brand new skill that was neither in the JO nor Elite Code of Points. Shilese performed a 1 1/2 twisting double tuck on floor, where the twist is completed in the first flip and the second flip is a front tuck out. After successfully competing the skill, it was accepted into the JO Code of Points evaluated as an “E” and has been officially named the “Jones.”

Shilese is planning to compete this skill at the US and American Classic this summer. The skill has been submitted for evaluation in the Elite Code but Shilese and coaches have not yet received notification of the value for elite yet.

Shilese is only 11 years old but is known for her big tumbling. Shilese won Westerns last year with a full-in on floor, a skill rarely ever seen in level 9.  She currently attends Elite Development Camp at the Ranch and qualified Jr. International Elite at the Qualifier in San Diego. Shilese trains at Auburn Gymnastics in Auburn, Washington under coaches Brent and Lauren Phelps and Jill McGee.
