Canada has announced their team for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which begin July 23rd in Glasgow, Scotland.
Leading the women's team are Olympians Ellie Black and Victoria Moors. Black recently claimed the Canadian all-around title for the second year in a row. Moors represented Canada this year at the American Cup as well as the Tokyo Cup but missed out on a medal, placing fourth at both competitions. Moors is known for her floor where she displays beautiful artistry along with powerful tumbling including a lay out double double, which she had named after her last year. Both Black and Moors are experienced all-around competitors and have a shot at medaling in all-around.
Completing the women's team are Maegan Chant, Isabela Onyshko, and Stefanie Merkle. The Canadian women have a good chance to medal as a team and their biggest competitor will be team England.
Two-time Olympian Nathan Gafuik leads the men's team along with Scott Morgan, Anderson Loran, Kevin Lytwyn, and Zachary Clay.
