Romania & Great Britain Qualify For Team Finals
Great Britain and Romania performed in the second to last subdivision of qualifications in Nanning, China. Larisa Iordache made a significant impact and lead team Romania to a respectful seventh place finish, just scraping into the team finals. Great Britain performed consistently overall and finished in fourth place, securing their place in the final on Wednesday.

ROMANIA
Vault
Alina Stanila of Romania started off the vault rotation with a solid Yurchenko double full for a 14.866 followed by another solid Yurchenko double from Anamaria Ocolisan for a 14.8.
Larisa Iordache was up third and performed a nice, high Yurchenko double and a layout Tsuk full. She scored a 15.133 for her first vault and a 14.165 for her second vault, averaging a 14.649 and putting her in 8th at the time.
Silvia Zarzu was up fourth and performed a Yurchenko full with a hop back for a 13.766.
Cristina Tudorache was set to go fifth but ended up not vaulting.
Romania finished with a solid 58.565 on vault counting all four scores.
Bars
Stanila has a solid routine to start. Clear hip, toe on, stalder up, blind to a great Jaeger, bail to toe up, giant full to 2.5 twists with a step forward. 13.233.
Ocolisan has a rough start to the rotation, falling twice on her Jaeger. She will not receive credit for the release move and receives a 10.033.
Iordache with a stalder full to toe on Maloney half, blind to a beautiful Jeager, toe on piked Tkatchev, huge! Drags her feet on her Pak, but finishes the routine with a stuck dismount. 13.233.
Tudorache opens with a clear hip to Maloney, front giant half, Gienger with slight form breaks in the air, bail, toe on to toe up, giant full, ending with a beautifully stuck double pike dismount. 13.00.
Romania scores a total of 49.499 for the rotation, opting out of utilizing a fifth competitor, only competing four girls. They move into the 8th team ranking position.
Beam
Stanila has a difficult start to her beam routine suffering a fall on the first skill in the set, back handspring tuck full. She continues with a switch leap back tuck, side flip, switch half, and ends with a big 2.5 twist dismount. 13.066.
Munteanu starts her routine with the same series, back handspring tuck full, and lands it with a small wobble. She then performs a switch leap to switch side leap, and she falls. Manages to complete the routine with little error, but Romania will count at least one fall. 13.733.
Iordache nails her series, back handspring tuck full. back handspring layout two feet, another stick. Beautiful double turn, switch leap to switch half. Clutch routine for Romania on this event- they needed a hit, and she delivered nearly flawlessly. 15.066, for a current second place ranking.
Ocolisan endures Romania’s third fall on her round off layout two feet combination. She continues with a full turn leg over her head, to a solid front aerial. Manages to complete the remainder of the routine and scores a 12.066.
Tudorache is looking really solid and confident in this routine. She has gorgeous lines and presentation on this event, in true classic Romanian style. Switch leap to side flip, side aerial to back handspring, stuck cold! Great hit routine to end the event. 13.366.
Romania finishes the third event with a 55.231, currently standing in seventh place overall.
Floor
Stanila opens with a switch full, triple twist, 2.5 to a front full, and dismounted with a tuck double. 13.60.
Munteanu has beautiful artistry on this event and elegantly showcases it through her dance elements and choreography. Full in tuck first pass, steps out of bounds. Triple twist second pass, cleanly landed. Steps out of bounds for a second time on a tucked double. Finishes with a stuck piked double. 13.533.
Iordache opens with a nearly perfect tucked double double! Her energetic choreography and presentation capture the attention of the crowd, their cheers show their fascination. Big double pike with a small step back. Scores a big 14.933 and is currently in second place on the event.
Ocolisan scores a 13.800 in the fourth position for Romania.
Zarzu struggles on floor and has a fall. 12.666 to conclude Romania's floow rotation.
Romania finishes qualifications with a total score of 219.161, placing seventh in team rankings.

GREAT BRITAIN
Floor
Hannah Whelan in the first spot on floor for Great Britain. First pass- tucked full in, landed with her chest low and took a step forward and to the side. 2.5 twist second pass, stepped out on the landing. Finished with a 12.633, 5.3 level of difficulty.
Kelly Simm up second on floor. Opened with a big double layout, small hop backwards on the landing. Full in second pass, took a step back on the landing and stepped out of bounds. 5.6 level of difficulty, scored 13.233.
Gabrielle Jupp began with a big tucked fill in. 1.5 to punch front layout. Clean throughout the routine, no major mistakes. Scored a 13.400
Ruby Harrold opened with a big double arabian, one step forward on the landing. Showcases unique choreography with really powerful music. She sells it with the energy she puts into her presentation. Double tuck dismount with the smallest of hops on the landing. Solid routine for Great Britain. Has a 5.4 Level of difficulty, and scored a 13.733.
Claudia Fragapane in the anchor position on floor. First pass- HUGE double layout full in! Beautifully done in the air. Follows with a double layout punch wolf jump. Very well executed with a really controlled landing. Her energetic choreography have captured the attention of the crowd and judges, they love it. Scored a 14.40, putting her currently in fifth place on the event.
Great Britain puts up a 54.766 score after the first event.
Vault
Hannah Whelan with a Yurchenko full vault to start the event. Big in the air, but takes a large hop on the landing. 14.10.
Kelly Simm nails a Yurchenko double full. Great height off the horse, could have been a little tighter in the twist. 14.700.
Ruby Harrold also with a Yurchenko double full. Steps backwards on the line on the landing. 14.500.
Claudia Fragapane with a yurchenko double full first vault, scoring 15.000. Second vault, Yurchenko half on, layout half off. Average score of 14.716.
Gabrielle Jupp competes a Yurchenko full- well done, but will have a lower start value. 14.033.
After two events, Great Britain has a total score of 113.166 and moves into fourth place.
Bars
Fragapane begins with a toe blind into a big piked Jaeger, she has a big form break in her toe full and arches, but saves the skill and avoids a fall. Scores a 13.466.
Simm with an inside stalder, toe full, toe on piked Tkatchev, and hits her feet on the bar, somehow managing to continue the routine without a break. Finishes with a beautiful double layout, stuck! 12.433.
Jupp starts with a tow full, Maloney to Pak, Maloney half, tow blind to Jaeger, and can’t hold onto the bar. Finishes with a strong double layout dismount. 13.066.
Harrold begins with a Maloney to full twisting Pak, awesome! Maloney half to under bar jam to handstand on the lower bar to a toe full. Powerful combinations and has a strong swing going in the routine. 14.733.
Rebecca Downie hits an incredible routine for Great Britain. Powerful releases and beautifully long lines. Scores a 15.166.
Great Britain finishes the third event with a 56.431, with a fourth place ranking in team scores.
Beam
Whelan has attacked this beam set and started Great Britain off strong on the event. Wolf hop to front aerial, sheep jump, side aerial to layout step out, love seeing unique series combinations. Finishes with a 2.5 dismount, slight hop to the side on the landing. 13.966.
Jupp battles through her routine after falling. Lands a clean dismount and scores 12.60.
Harrold has a solid routine and scores 13.70.
Fragapane begins with a switch leap to wolf jump series, back handspring layout two feet and falls off the beam. Continues with a front aerial, solid sheep jump. 13.133.
Downie opens with a front tuck, slight wobble on landing. Side aerial to back layout step out, solid. Awesome inside turn into a front aerial split jump. Beautiful switch ring, and finishes with a double pike dismount, chest was low and she stepped forward. Scores a 14.200.
Great Britain finishes with a total score of 224.596, placing fourth in team rankings.
