Best Meet 2014 - #3 Jesolo Trophy

As the year draws to a close, we are taking a look back at the best of 2014. The final few days of this year will be filled with the best routines, moments, and more from this year for you to enjoy. We’re continuing our “Best of 2014” series with the best meets of the year. Coming in at the #3 spot is the City of Jesolo Trophy.

Despite nearly half of Team USA making their first international debut in Jesolo, the girls in red, white, and blue dominated both team finals by outscoring the competition by more than ten points for the seniors and sixteen points for the juniors. On the senior side, USA swept the top six places in the all-around with Kyla Ross (Gym-Max), Peyton Ernst (Texas Dreams), and Maggie Nichols (Twin City Twisters) taking home gold, silver, and bronze, respectively.

The juniors proved age and international experience to be non-factors with another medal sweep as Bailie Key (Texas Dreams)  hit all four events and defended her title taking home gold by nearly two points, and newcomers Nia Dennis (Buckeye) and Norah Flatley (Chow’s) earned the silver and bronze medals.
