The No. 8 Auburn Tigers head north to face the Missouri Tigers in an SEC dual meet this Friday.

Last week, Auburn fell to LSU even after posting a school record of 197.3.  Missouri also posted their season high and top score since 2012 with a 195.975 against Florida. 

Auburn is led by all-around gymnast, Caitlin Atkinson, who is currently ranked 17th in the nation.  Along with Atkinson, MJ Rott and Lexus Demers are stand outs for the Tigers.  Against LSU, both gymnasts posted 9.95 on vault.  Rott was just named the SEC Event Specialist of the Week after her near perfect vault and 9.9 on floor.

Missouri gymnasts, Shauna Miller and Laura Kappler, are ones to watch for the Tigers.  Both continue to set career bests week after week.

The underclassman play a crucial role to Missouri’s line-up.  They consistently hit critical routines and have added a lot more difficulty to them . Last week, three freshman had the highest beam score out of the six in line-up.  

Auburn's continuous improvement is now making them serious contender in the SEC. They only fell to the then ranked No. 2 LSU Tigers by .05.

After a series of high 195 scores, Missouri is certainly capable of breaking the 196.0 mark this week.  The Tigers need to focus on landings, handstands and small details if they want to top their highest team score of the season.

Competition begins at 8pm at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo.
