Friday’s Auburn versus Missouri meet was one for the record books.

The Auburn Tigers defeated the Missouri Tigers (196.875-195.85) after posting their highest away team score in program history.

The meet started off with a huge stuck yurchenko full vault by Missouri freshman, Shauna Miller. After a series of “10” chants from the crowd, the judges awarded her 9.975 to tie Missouri’s vault record.

Over on the bars, Auburn posted a 49.2 with Caitlin Atkinson and Megan Walker leading the way with 9.875’s.

During the second rotation, Auburn gymnasts, Mj Rott and Atkinson each posted 9.875’s for their second highest vault team score of the year.

For the Missouri Tigers, Bri Conkle, Becca Johnson and Miller all posted 9.825’s to contribute to their 48.95 bar score.

Throughout the third event, Auburn began to pull away.  Lexus Demers’ 9.875 topped the floor scores to win the event. Missouri’s Laura Kappler broke another personal best with a 9.875 on beam.

The night finished up with Walker scoring a 9.9 to win the beam event title while Missouri’s Kappler tallied a 9.85 to tie her career high on floor.

Next week Missouri heads to Fayetteville, Ark. to face the No. 14 Arkansas Razorbacks as Auburn hosts No.11 Georgia.
