The annual City of Jesolo Trophy begins this year on March 25 and below is the nominative roster for Team USA. IMPORTANT: This is the initial unofficial roster that USA has sent and they will select the official team at the national team training camp/selection camp that takes place March 18-22.
Juniors:
Norah Flatley, Chow's
Jazmyn Foberg, MG Elite
Lauren Hernandez, MG Elite
Olivia Trautman, Twin City Twisters
Victoria Nguyen, Chow's
Jordan Chiles, Naydenov
Seniors:
Seniors:
Alexandra Raisman, Brestyan's
Gabrielle Douglas, Buckeye
Mykayla Skinner, Desert Lights
Kyla Ross, Gym-Max
Simone Biles, World Champions Centre
Emily Schild, Everest
Alyssa Baumann, WOGA
Bailie Key, Texas Dreams
Madison Desch, GAGE
Head coach: Martha Karolyi
This list also leaves one athlete space blank with a question mark so it is highly likely that the US will select a 16th gymnast to send to Jesolo.
While this list may change, it is a good indication of who we might get to see compete in just a few weeks. For most of the girls, it will be their 2015 debut and we will get a first look at new skills and routines. The USA uses this competition as a starting point for the year and it is important in getting assignments later in the year.
If Raisman and Douglas are selected for the final team, it will be their first competition since the 2012 London Olympics.
