Owen Field joins the Gator gymnastics staff as an assistant coach, UF Head Coach Jenny Rowland announced Friday.

 

About Field

 

Field just finished his sixth season with the University of Nebraska women’s gymnastics program, serving roles as manager or volunteer coach during that time. When he was a volunteer coach, Field worked alongside head coach Dan Kendig to coach the Huskers’ on uneven bars. He also assisted with the Huskers' strength and conditioning program.

 

While Field was with Nebraska, the Huskers advanced to the NCAA Championships four times (2015, 2014, 2012, 2010), reaching the Super Six in 2014. Nebraska gymnastics picked up a total of 12 All-America honors in either uneven bars or all-around while Field was with the Huskers. A Husker won conference bars titles in 2012, 2013 and 2015.

 

Field also served as Southern Utah’s volunteer coach for the 2011 season.

 

Field, age 24, also was the club coach at UNL, the Nebraska School of Gymnastics, and was a coach at the Southern Utah Gymnastics Academy. Field has coached at several gymnastics camps, including Lake Owen Gymnastics Camp, Flipfest and Woodward Gymnastics Camp.

Gator Coaching Staff Complete:

 

Today’s announcement completes the Gator coaching staff. Field will joins UF Assistant Coach Adrian Burde, who begins his 10th season with the Gators in 2016. Volunteer coach Jeremy Miranda will also continue to provide the Gators with his creative touch to Florida floor exercise routines.

 

Personal:

 

Field received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Nebraska in 2015. He is a native of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
