2013 World Championships Men's GOLD Medal Routines
The 2013 World Gymnastics Championships came to a close over the weekend in Antwerp. Here's a recap of the newly crowned World Champions on the men's side. All eyes will be on these gymnasts as we progress into the quadrennium.
2013 World Floor Champion: Kenzo Shirai of Japan
Score: 16.000 (7.40D / 8.60E)
Competing in his first World Championships, 17-year-old phenom Kenzo Shirai of Japan won the men's floor title with a crazy routine that ended with a stuck quadruple twist. Shirai's massive difficulty score of 7.40 was the highest in the field by five tenths. Jake Dalton used clean landings to win the silver medal with a 15.600. This was his first individual World medal and the first floor medal for the U.S. since 2003. All Around Champion and reigning event Champion Kohei Uchimura of Japan won the bronze medal with a 15.500.
2013 World Pommel Horse Champion: Kohei Kameyama of Japan
Score: 15.833 (6.90D / 8.933E)
In the absence of reigning World and Olympic Champion Krisztian Berki, Japan's Kohei Kameyama won World pommel horse gold with a score of 15.833. Max Whitlock of Great Britain and Daniel Corral Barron of Mexico tied for the silver with a score of 15.633. Whitlock was the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist on the pommel horse while Barron clinched his country's first World medal.
2013 World Still Rings Champion: Arthur Zanetti Nabarrete of Brazil
Score: 15.800 (6.80D / 9.00E)
Reigning Olympic Rings Champion Arthur Zanetti of Brazil used the final's highest execution score of 9.0 to earn another title. The 23-year-old played safe by reducing his difficulty value by .1 compared to the qualifications and gaining almost .2 in execution. Russia's Aleksandr Balandin won the bronze with a 6.9 D score and a 15.733. American Brandon Wynn stuck his full twisting double layout dismount to win the bronze medal with a 15.666.
2013 Men's Vault World Champion: Yang Hak Seon of Korea

VT1: 15.733 (6.40D / 9.333E)
VT2: 15.333 (6.00D / 9.333E)
Reigning Olympic and World Champion Yang Hak Seon of Korea did it again! The 20-year-old landed the most difficult vault of the competition, a handspring triple that has been evaluated with a 6.40 difficulty score. USA's Steven Legendre was the surprise silver medalist, earning much higher execution than in the qualifications for his Dragulescu and tsukahara double pike vaults. Kristian Thomas of Great Britain secured the bronze thanks to a 9.50 execution score on his first vault, yurchenko double pike.
2013 Parallel Bars World Champion: TIE between Lin Chaopan of China & Kohei Uchimura of Japan
Score: 15.666 (6.70D / 8.966E)
Performing a routine that was hard to beat, 18-year-old Lin Chaopan of China took an early lead in this final. He was soon joined on top by 2010 World Bronze medalist Uchimura who increased his difficulty for the final. With identical scores, Lin and Uchimura each won gold medals. Despite qualifying in 8th place, American John Orozco delivered his best routine for a 15.333 and the bronze medal.
2013 High Bar World Champion: Epke Zonderland, Netherlands
Score: 16.00 (7.70D / 8.30E)
High bar proved to be the most thrilling final of the competition and a fantastic way to conclude another World Championships. Reigning Olympic Champion Epke Zonderland hit his most difficult routine for a massive 7.70 D score, making him impossible to catch. This marked the first World title for Zonderland. Germany's Fabian Hambuechen was close behind in second (15.933) with Uchimura using the highest E score of the final, 8.733, to claim the bronze (15.633).
