Below, we've summarized what you can expect from this exciting match up.
#3 LSU will be the favorite to win the competition. Last weekend, they scored their season high of a 197.925 to beat Alabama. The previous weekend, they also put in big numbers to finish with a 197.900 to upset Florida. The team is on fire at the moment and will look forward to hopefully welcoming freshman Lexie Priessman back into the bars lineup as well.
LSU has strong lineups on every event. One of LSU’s top performers is junior Ashleigh Gnat, who has a string of perfect 10s under her belt this season. She’s one of the few in the NCAA performing the double twisting Yurchenko, and she’s scored a 10.00 twice on the event. Another top performer is senior Randii Wyrick, who is one of LSU’s top floor performers. Her choreography is unique and done with such precision, and her tumbling is huge. She’s gone 9.9+ five times this season. Check out her routine below from Metroplex:
#16 Oregon State has continued to improve all season. Their season high is a 196.850, which they achieved a few weeks ago to beat Cal. The next week, they had a big win against higher-ranked Stanford, and they won the competition last weekend against Ball State and Seattle Pacific. They will be looking to continue this momentum for the last meet of the season. The team relies heavily on all-around competitor Maddie Gardiner, who is strong on all four. Junior Kaytianna McMillan has been a strong performer for the team as well, especially on bars, where she has gorgeous lines on and great form. Her scores have been getting better and better as the season goes on, and she’s gone 9.9+ in the last four meets for the team. Check out her routine below.
#30 New Hampshire has had a good season, especially on beam, where they are currently ranked #7 in the country. The team has faltered a bit in the past few competitions, and they’ll be looking to put up a strong performance for this last meet. Sophomore Lia Breeden has been so consistent for the Wildcats, especially on beam. She has competed in every meet this season and only had one score below a 9.75, with her season high being a 9.9. Check out her strong routine below.
#59 TWU put up their top score of the season last weekend in a big meet with GWU, Maryland, Pittsburgh and Yale. The team finished 3rd with a 193.575. They put up strong performances on vault and floor especially, and they’ll be looking forward to having their last meet at home tonight and to perhaps beat their high from last week. Sophomore Schyler Jones has been a strong all-around competitor for TWU this year, but one of her best events is beam. She has matched her career high this year with a 9.85, and she also performs some unique moves in her routine, such as a round-off back pike combination. Check out her routine below from the season opener against Florida.
