The 2018 Pacific Rim Championships will be held April 27-29 in Medellin, Colombia, and FloGymnastics will have the exclusive live stream of all men's and women's artistic events! Here's your go-to page for information on the competition.

THE EVENT

The Pacific Rim Championships are an International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) approved Regional Championship held every two years. 

LOCATION

This year's competition will be held in Medellin, Colombia, hosted by the Colombia Gymnastics Federation. The women’s and men’s artistic gymnastics events will take place in the Ivan de Bedout Coliseum.

Friday, April 27: Men's Team and AA Competition

• Men's subdivision 1 - 2:15 PM - 5 PM
• Men's subdivision 2 - 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Saturday, April 28: Women's Team and AA Competition

• Women's subdivision 1 - 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
• Women's subdivision 2 - 5 PM - 7 PM
• Women's subdivision 3 - 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Sunday, April 29: Men's and Women's Event Finals

• Event finals (M&W) - 2:30 PM - 7 PM

FORMAT

Team

Team of six athletes, maximum of three seniors (could be up to six juniors).

• Team results from combined junior and senior scores. In the year of the Olympic Games, teams can be composed of any combination of juniors and seniors, with no restriction on the number of seniors.
• FIG Qualification Competition Rules
• Modified 6-5-4 format. Each country identifies the five athletes whose scores could count for team. Best four scores of the five count. This can be different for each event. The designated sixth gymnast for each apparatus will be permitted to compete (unofficially for team competition) and will be eligible for the Individual all-around and apparatus finals.
• Drawing of lots for the last subdivision is seeded from the results of the previous Pac Rim Championships.

All Around – determined from Team competition

• The final ranking for All Around will be according to FIG rules
• All six athletes eligible for all-around
• Junior results and senior results will be separated for all-around

Apparatus Finals

• Top eight junior athletes, with a maximum of two per country, on each apparatus will advance to finals.
• Top eight senior athletes, with a maximum of 2 per country, on each apparatus will advance to finals.
• Two reserves will be named according to FIG rules
• Draw will be according to FIG rules
• Seniors will use FIG Apparatus Finals Competition rules
• Juniors will use FIG Apparatus Finals Competition rules for Bars, Beam, and Floor. FIG Individual Final Competition rules for Vault.
• Juniors will be permitted a one-touch warmup prior to competition on each event.

HISTORY

The last Pac Rims event was held in 2016, just months before the Rio Olympics. USA's women's team blew away the competition, winning the team title by over 24 points. Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez, Brenna Dowell, Ashton Locklear, and Ragan Smith made up team USA. 

On the men's side, USA also took the team title with Jacob Dalton, Eddie Penev, Alex Naddour, Sam Mikulak, Donnell Whittenburg, and John Orozco.

USA has won both men's and women's team titles since 2008.
