The California Grand Invitational and Collegiate Challenge is coming up, and this huge club and college competition is a great way to kick off the 2020 NCAA season and showcase many talented level 10 competitors. This meet will take place in Anaheim, California, at the Anaheim Convention Center. The venue is recently renovated and is sure to be a gorgeous spot to host this huge event. 

The competition takes place Jan. 3-5, beginning at 8 a.m. PT each morning. The NCAA meets are scheduled for Jan. 4, with two different sessions featuring four teams each. Denver, ASU, Auburn, and Penn State will compete in the first session (starting at 1 p.m. PT), followed by Oklahoma, UCLA, Cal Berkeley, and Stanford in the second session (starting at 6:30 p.m. PT). 

Returning NCAA national champion Oklahoma headlines the Collegiate Challenge field, but the meet also features 2019 national runner-up UCLA and finalist Denver. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to see three of the top-four teams from 2019 open their seasons! The Bruins won the Collegiate Challenge last year and will be one to watch to see if they can defend their title. Sponsored by Under Armour, the Collegiate Challenge section of the California Grand Invitational is sure to draw many fans. 

Although any club gymnasts from level 2 to 10 and Xcel gymnasts can compete, it is an especially big competition for the level 10 gymnasts, because the top junior and senior gymnast from all sessions will qualify to the 2020 Nastia Liukin Cup. 

FloGymnastics will be covering this competition, with a live stream of each individual event as well as video replays. This way, you won’t chance missing one of your favorite athletes compete, and you can watch their perfectly stuck routine over and over again! FloGymnastics will be streaming all level 10 sessions, as well as both NCAA sessions.

There are so many reasons to watch this meet. The meet also has other ways to get people involved, including a fan fest on Jan. 4 at 3 p.m. PT, on the Convention Center Plaza. There will be music, food trucks, games, and best of all, appearances from many athletes. The competition is located near many of California’s tourist attractions, making it an exciting meet to compete in.
