Alaina Johnson Breaks UF All Around Record on Emotional Senior Night
Mar 8, 2014
During her emotional senior night as her last home competition at the University of Florida, Gator senior Alaina Johnson set a new school record for the highest all-around score of 39.825! This total beat Florida's record previously held by teammate Kytra Hunter and is the nation's highest all around score since Courtney Kupets of Georgia totaled 39.85 in 2009. Johnson won the all around, vault (9.95), and uneven bars (9.975). If Johnson keeps this up, she could win Florida's third straight NCAA All Around title. Hunter won in 2012, and Bridget Sloan won in 2013. In the team competition, Florida crushed visiting West Virginia with a 198.325, the nation'€™s leader of 2014 and is the third-highest in school history.
