INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., June 15, 2016 – Scheduled for July 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the SAP Center at San Jose (Calif.), more than 130 U.S. Olympic gymnasts are expected to attend the Parade of Olympians Celebration. All seven members of the Magnificent Seven, who won the USA’s first women’s Olympic team gold in 1996, will attend the evening’s festivities. Held in conjunction with the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Gymnastics in San Jose, the event includes a tribute to the attending Olympians and music from entertainers Scotty McCreery, Katharine McPhee, La’Porsha Renae and Laura Marano. USA Gymnastics is hosting the Parade of Olympians Celebration as part of a reunion of the U.S. athletes who contributed to the USA’s Olympic Gymnastics Teams.
“This is going to be the sport’s largest celebration of the amazing performances of USA Gymnastics’ athletes throughout Olympic history, which paved the way for today’s success,” said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics. “Having the Magnificent Seven among the Olympians attending adds a special luster because 20 years ago they stole America’s hearts. And, combining music and sport always makes for good fun."
All of the participating and replacement athletes, as identified by USA Gymnastics, for the Olympic Games in all four Olympic disciplines (men’s, rhythmic and women’s gymnastics, and trampoline) were invited. The Olympic gold medalists who are among the Olympians planning to be in San Jose are listed below by Olympic Games.

Three of “American Idol’s” biggest names -- Scotty McCreery, Katharine McPhee and La’Porsha Renae – and Laura Marano will provide musical accompaniment for the evening. Renowned music director Rickey Minor is putting together an ensemble of musicians to support the entertainment.
“American Idol” winner McCreery, who was voted “Best American Idol” in February by “Los Angeles Times” readers, debuted all three of his albums at No. 1 on the “Billboard” chart; earned three platinum-certified singles, including “See You Tonight”; and won ACM, BMI and CMT awards.
McPhee, who is also known for her role on “Scorpion,” recently appeared on American Idol’s series finale and performed at the 2016 Memorial Day concert in Washington, D.C.
