USA Gymnastics will be on the hunt for a new high-performance director after the head of the women’s team announced Wednesday that he’d be stepping down from his role at the end of the year.

CALI, Colombia, December 4, 2021 – U.S. athletes claimed gold in men’s synchronized trampoline Saturday on the final day of the trampoline gymnastics competition at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia. Elijah Vogel of Longmont, Colo./Elevated Trampoline Sports Academy added a silver in men’s individual trampoline, while Nayenne Pollini Ashenaffi of Reseda, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles and Sarah Mariotti of San Diego, Calif./Emerald City Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics took silver and bronze, respectively, in the rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around. The U.S. rhythmic group also secured the bronze in the group all-around.

CALI, Colombia, November 28, 2021 – U.S. athletes claimed six medals on the first day of artistic gymnastics apparatus finals Sunday at the Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia. Madray Johnson of Dallas, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics, Toby Liang of Roswell, Ga./Roswell Gymnastics, David Shamah of McKinney, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics, and Tiana Sumanasekera of Pleasanton, Calif./West Valley Gymnastics each added a second gold medal to their haul following U.S. wins in the men’s and women’s team finals at the Coliseo el Pueblo earlier in the week.

INDIANAPOLIS, November 17, 2021 – USA Gymnastics today announced the U.S. women’s artistic team for the upcoming 2021 Junior Pan American Games. The inaugural event will be held November 25-December 5 in Cali, Colombia. The below gymnasts were named based on their performances at the November Junior National Team camp in Indianapolis.

KITAKYUSHU, Japan, October 21, 2021 – Leanne Wong of Overland Park, Kan., and Kayla DiCello of Boyds, Md., finished in the second and third positions during Thursday’s women’s all-around final at the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan. The U.S. gymnasts were edged only by Olympic bronze medalist Angelina Melnikova of Russia who claimed the top spot.

Based on the outlined selection procedures, World individual bronze medalists Yul Moldauer of Wellington, Colo./5280 Gymnastics (floor, 2017) and Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./Salto Gymnastics (vault, 2015) automatically qualified to the 2021 U.S. Men’s Artistic World Championships team based on their performances at the Worlds selection camp September 14-18 at the Colorado Springs Olympic and Paralympic Training Center.

The five-time Olympic medalist finished first in the two-day competition overall, with a score of 118.098. Biles actually finished second on day two to Suni Lee with a 57.533, but again, won the overall meet with 118.098.

Seventeen-year-old gymnast, Jake Whatley’s body was recovered tonight after the teen tried to swim across the Chattahoochee River on Tuesday. Whatley attempted to cross the river with a group of ten swimmers but was lost upstream as emergency crews rushed to rescue him. Eight swimmers made it across safely, and the other was saved by the rescue crew after the individual was found clinging to a rock.
