France and Belgium Announce Olympic Teams
The French and Belgian Gymnastics Federations have announced their five-woman teams for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. FRANCETeam France includes Marine Boy
The French and Belgian Gymnastics Federations have announced their five-woman teams for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Team France includes Marine Boyer, Marine Brevet, Loan His, Oréane Lechenault and Louise Vanhille.
Boyer, Brevet, Loan and Lechenault all helped France win bronze at this year's European Championships. In addition, Boyer won silver on beam at Euros.
Brevet was part of the 2012 French team, but withdrew due to an elbow injury.
Team Belgium, cleverly known as Team BelGym, includes Nina Derwael, Senna Deriks,Axelle Klinckaert, Gaelle Mys, Laura Waem, and Rune Hermans. Cindy Vandenhole and Julie Meyers will be the replacement athletes.

Klinckaert sustained a knee injury and has been replaced by Hermans.
The Belgian Gymnastics Federation innovatively announced the team with a short, entertaining show complete with smoke, lights and curtains in the colors of the Olympic rings.
Mys competed in the beam and floor finals at the 2016 European Championships, but Belgium did not compete in the team final at Euros. Mys also represented Belgium in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics. In 2012, Mys replaced Julie Croket after Croket suffered an injury.
