Yesterday, Team Canada announced the first three of five members of their 2016 Rio Olympic team following their Trials, which were held at a national selection camp event in Gatineau, Quebec, from June 25-29.
Today, they rounded out the team by naming the final two members as Shallon Olsen and Rose Woo.
Canada's Team for Rio:
The alternates are Madison Copiak and Megan Roberts.
The gymnasts participated in two days of competition to earn their spots on the team. For some, such as Black and Onyshko, the Trials solidified spots they earned through impressive prior performances. In fact, neither Black nor Onyshko participated in day two of the camp's competition:
As part of the 2012 Olympic team for Canada, Black is a big leader on the team with her calm and confident demeanor, big skills, and notable consistency.
Onyshko burst onto the scene in the last few years to become one of the team's strongest all-around contenders. She won 2016 Elite Canada and International Gymnix, and took second all-around at the Stuttgart World Cup.
Another member of the 2012 Olympic team, Rogers is coming off her NCAA season at Georgia, where she helped the team to the Super Six competition. She had a phenomenal showing at Olympic Trials to solidify her spot.
Canada is bringing a strong team of both veterans and new stars. At London 2012 the team achieved a best-ever fifth place finish, so they will look to achieve impressive results again.
Additionally, Scott Morgan was selected to represent Canada as an individual on the men's side.

Brittany Rogers Bars: Well folks, that was magic. Dynamic releases. Quick turns. Total package. I think Brittany Rogers will be in Rio!
