Bridget Sloan Named SEC Female Athlete of the Year
Florida's Bridget Sloan has been named the 2016 SEC Female Athlete of the Year by a vote of the league's athletics directors, announced this morning by Commissioner Greg Sankey. Arkansas track and field athlete Jarrion Lawson won Male Athlete of the Year.

Sankey applauded the athletes' outstanding accomplishments and their representation of the SEC:
Jarrion and Bridget are perfect examples of what it means to be a student-athlete in the Southeastern Conference. They have competed at the highest level of collegiate athletics and through their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence have been successful in their endeavors both in competition and in the classroom.
Sloan just finished up her senior year with the Gators and undoubtedly left her mark on the program. With eight perfect 10s and nine NCAA titles—three with the team and six individual wins—she has become a legend in Florida Gator history.

After her final season, she also received her second Honda Award, which celebrates her as the nation's top collegiate gymnast. Sloan closed out her career in style as the NCAA all-around champion, while taking on individual bars and beam titles as well. She now leaves Florida as the career leader for all-around wins (27), event titles (95), 10.0 marks (8), and All-America honors earned in NCAA competition (16).

A big congrats to Bridget!
