Australia's Lauren Mitchell has announced her retirement from gymnastics, according to the Western Australian Institute of Sport.
Australia's Lauren Mitchell has announced her retirement from gymnastics, according to the Western Australian Institute of Sport.
Mitchell is one of the most successful gymnasts in Australian history. She became the first female Australian gymnast to win a world gold medal when she took first on floor at the 2010 World Championships. She also clinched silver on beam and floor at the 2009 World Championships.
Mitchell competed at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games for Australia, and according to WAIS, she is retiring with "no regrets."
