"Dancing with the Stars" season 23 standout Laurie Hernandez is in the middle of an impressive balancing act. She is performing weekly on the show while also traveling around the country on the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions.
It sounds like no easy feat... and it most definitely is not.
Hernandez found herself getting emotional on "DWTS" last week when she struggled to learn some of the steps in her Paso Doble dance. It was a moment of vulnerability that is to be expected from the 16-year-old superstar, who her partner Val Chmerkovskiy calls an "American treasure."
Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin were both performers on the show as well, and they sat down with Hernandez to share some advice and assure her that she's not alone.

Johnson remembered locking herself in the bathroom and crying at one point during her time on the show.
Hernandez admitted, "I did that last week!"
It's been a crazy time for Hernandez as she settles into her post-Olympic life -- which includes more fame than she may have imagined. She has been handling it amazingly well and Johnson gave her advice moving forward.
Watch for Hernandez on "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC on Monday at 8 PM ET.

This is time to have fun, learn a new thing and kind of prove to yourself that you can be more than just a gymnast. We can make mistakes!
