Jesolo Preview: Barbosa And Saraiva Lead Team Brazil
Olympic gymnasts Jade Barbosa and Flavia Saraiva headline the Brazilian team competing at the 2018 City of Jesolo Trophy.
While international gymnastics meets brings together countries from all over the world, only one South American nation will be represented at the 2018 City of Jesolo Trophy. Brazil is sending a senior and junior team to compete in Italy, headlined by Olympians Jade Barbosa and Flavia Saraiva.
Joining Barbosa and Saraiva on the senior squad are Carolyne Pedro and Luiza Domingues. Representing Brazil in the junior competition are Luiza Helena Silva, Ana Luiza Lima, Julia Soares, and Camila Siqueira.

The Experienced Olympians | Jade Barbosa & Flavia Saraiva
Jade Barbosa
The two-time Olympian is best known for her vaulting prowess, as she is a world championship medalist on the event. Her power is also a great asset for her on floor exercise, but she is a good all-around gymnast for Brazil who is capable of putting up valuable scores on all four events.

Flavia Saraiva
Saraiva is Brazil's newest gymnastics superstar, becoming a fan favorite after winning three medals at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. She excels on beam and floor, where she displays great difficulty and performs well. The pint-sized athlete is a great competitor on all four events, though, making her a very valuable member for Brazil, especially in a team competition.

Luiza Domingues
Domingues is a first-year senior but was a notable competitor for Brazil as a junior, earning two medals at last year's Brazilian Apparatus Championships and placing in the all-around at the 2017 Brazilian Championships. With solid performances at the City of Jesolo Trophy, Domingues can start her senior career on a high note.

Carolyne Pedro
Although Pedro is an experienced elite gymnast who's competed internationally since 2013, she doesn't have the big-time competition experience at the world championships or Olympics like Barbosa and Saraiva. However, her experience on smaller international assignments like World Cups, the South American Championships, and Pan American Championships is still valuable. Pedro will contribute most on vault where she is capable of scoring in the mid- to high-13 range. When she hits on bars and floor, she can also provide Team Brazil with solid scores.
