    INDIANAPOLIS, October 9, 2021 – Kayla DiCello of Boyds, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics and Leanne Wong of Overland Park, Kan./Great American Gymnastics Express – both alternates for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games – will lead a group of up-and-coming U.S. gymnasts at the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships later this month in Kitakyushu, Japan. DiCello and Wong will be joined by EMjae Frazier of Erial, N.J./Parkettes National Gymnastics Center and Konnor McClain of Cross Lanes, W.Va./WOGA Gymnastics.

The group was just edged out of Saturday’s final as the top eight teams advanced.

    TOKYO, August 6, 2021 – For the first time under the current qualification system, the U.S. was represented by two athletes in the rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around qualifications at an Olympic Games Friday at Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill., and Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill., finished 12th and 13th, respectively. The pair narrowly missed Saturday’s final but were named the second and third reserves for the competition after the top ten gymnasts advanced.

Carey, the second competitor to perform, delivered a 14.366, setting a bar that would not be eclipsed. Vanessa Ferrari of Italy claimed the silver medal with a 14.200, and Mai Murakami of Japan and Angelina Melnikova of the Russian Olympic Committee shared the bronze medal with a 14.166.

    TOKYO, July 31, 2021 – World team silver medalist Aliaksei Shostak of Lafayette, La., took 13th in the Olympic men’s trampoline competition Saturday at Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Shostak’s first qualifying routine earned a 51.165 but his quest for a medal came to an end when he was unable to complete his second routine. He finished with a combined 82.150.

    TOKYO, July 30, 2021 – World team silver medalist Nicole Ahsinger of Lafayette, La., matched the highest finish for U.S. athletes in Olympic women’s trampoline Friday at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Ahsinger posted a 54.350 in the event final to secure sixth place. Previously, Savannah Vinsant, who competed at the 2012 London Olympic Games, was the only U.S. women’s trampolinist to earn a spot in an Olympic final. Vinsant also finished 6th.

    TOKYO, July 29, 2021 – In a back-and-forth match up that came down to the final rotation, Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn., topped Rebeca Andrade of Brazil to claim Team USA’s fifth-straight Olympic women’s all-around title Thursday at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. She joins an iconic list of U.S. Olympic all-around gold medalists that includes Mary Lou Retton (1984), Carly Patterson (2004), Nastia Liukin (2008), Gabby Douglas (2012) and Simone Biles (2016).

    TOKYO, July 28, 2021 – U.S. gymnasts Brody Malone of Belfast, Tenn., and Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif., were 10th and 12th, respectively in the men’s all-around competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Wednesday at Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Mikulak, who is competing in his third Olympics, posted an 83.164, finishing just behind Malone who notched an 84.465 across all six apparatus.

    ST. LOUIS, June 26, 2021 - The 2021 USA Gymnastics Championships continued Saturday at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis. Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center swept the clubs and ribbon titles, posting a 25.450 in clubs and 20.850 in ribbon to close out the night. Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center finished second in clubs (23.350) and ribbon (20.100). In the junior division, Nayenne Pollini Ashenaffi of San Diego, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles topped the all-around competition and clubs field, and Milana Abayeva of Brooklyn, N.Y./Isadora took top honors in the ribbon competition.
