Utah Clinches First Road Win Of The Season Against Southern Utah

Utah and Southern Utah took center stage in a big in-state showdown tonight. The Utes came out with the road win, scoring a 196.725 over Southern Utah’s 195.60. Utah sophomore Kari Lee took the all-around title with a 38.775.

Tonight, #7 Utah will take on #30 Southern Utah at a big in-state showdown. The Utah Utes had one of their best seasons in recent history last year, and capped it off with a phenomenal post-season. When it came to Championships, Utah fans were biting their nails at the end. The team came so close to claiming the title and finished a mere tenth behind Florida. Utah did well in their first meet last weekend when they beat BYU with a 196.175, but with many other teams ahead of them in the rankings, they'll definitely be looking to improve tonight.

Southern Utah University hosted Utah Friday January 15th. It was a top tier matchup between the in state rivals, as both came off a successful 2015 season. Utah finished the season in second, narrowly missing out on the National Title, while Southern Utah finished in 16th. Both are looking for even more in 2016!
