We’re continuing our series on the new additions to NCAA gymnastics team rosters, highlighting the Florida Gators today. The Gators had a couple of important contributors graduate last year, including Kennedy Baker, Alex McMurtry, and Rachel Slocum. How they replace these losses will determine how far they can go this year in NCAA competition.

The 2018 NCAA postseason has started, with only a few competitions left to enjoy and a small number of appearances left for this year’s senior collegiate athletes. For most of these gymnasts, Regionals and (hopefully) the NCAA championships will be the last competitions of their careers.

Oklahoma hit its fourth score of 198 or better after topping West Virginia 198.025 to 195.750. It was a much better performance for the Sooners on balance beam with a 49.600 — the best team total for OU during the meet. 

No. 1-ranked Oklahoma posted a score above the 198 mark for the third straight week, this time totaling a season-best 198.150 to top North Carolina on Sunday in Norman, OK.

The No. 5 Florida Gators host the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners on Friday night in what should be an incredible meet — and perhaps our first glimpse at what the postseason could look like if these two squads make it to nationals.

Florida opened its season with a win on the road at West Virginia, topping the Mountaineers 195.900 to 194.425 in Morgantown, West Virginia, on Friday night.

No. 2 Florida opens the season on the road tonight as they travel to face West Virginia in a non-conference meet. The Gators did not lose any routines from the 2017 season and added a four-member freshman class to compete for spots in the lineup.
