World Team Teleconference: Reaction to Loss of the Cal Gymnastics Program
Sep 30, 2010
The 2010 USA World Championships team answered questions via teleconference on September 29th, just a few weeks before leaving for Worlds in Rotterdam. The day before the teleconference, the Board of Directors at the University of California announced that they would be cutting the Cal gymnastics program. Five out of the six guys on the 2010 USA Worlds team come from NCAA gymnastics programs. With the loss of Cal, the amount of NCAA programs in the US is down to just 16. The guys comment on the situation, and their reactions to the loss of Cal. (Chris Cameron is currently a gymnast at the University of Michigan, and Brandon Wynn is from Ohio State.)
