Top Routines To Watch From J.O. Nationals: Juniors

The Junior Olympic (J.O.) National Championships took place this past weekend in Des Moines, Iowa, where the top 7 gymnasts (in each age group, junior and senior) from the eight Regional Championships competed. For those who couldn’t be there, USA Gymnastics has uploaded some of the top routines from the competition on their youtube channel. We had a look and came up with a list of the top routines worth taking a look at, starting with the juniors.

These NCAA Teams Had The Best Meet At JO Nationals

The best level 10s from around the country competed at the Junior Olympic National Championships this past weekend in Des Moines, Iowa. Many of these top gymnasts have already committed to college and we took a look at where these college bound gymnasts finished this weekend to determine which college had the best competition.    Many of the top NCAA teams like Florida and UCLA have committed elite gymnasts, who obviously didn’t compete this weekend. However, many other top teams like Alabama and Michigan had numerous future team members compete. (These total numbers may not be completely accurate due to the nature of undocumented verbal commitments).   Analyzing the number of gymnasts each college had competing, as well as the placement of those gymnasts, we determined which college teams had the best showing at JOs. Below are the top three schools.

The JO National Invitational Tournament is held following the JO National Champonships. From each region, gymnasts placing 8th and 9th (and scoring above a 34.0) who just miss out on JO Nationals, are invited to the NIT. Below are result from the competition.
